Bat Mitzvah baby.  You sure look great.  Now you’re a lady.  This is your day.

Bat Mitzvah baby.  You made us proud.  You led the praying.   You took your vows.

And when you said the blessings over the Torah, it warmed your parents’ hearts

Just like the million women who went before ya, and heard the word of God

Bat Mitzvah baby.  You showed your stuff.  Congratulations.  You’re growing up.

Bat Mitzvah “bub-ba-lah”— you sure look sweet.

Come give a hug-a-lah — let’s pinch your cheeks.

And when your parents rose and recited the blessing to set their child free,

You understood that being Jewish means taking responsibility.
