Giggles and laughs – Bright eyes and smiles – Tickles and pinches and whining and cries. Fragile as glass – Precious as pearls – These are the wonders of my little girls.
They love to dance – They love to sing – They love to play in the park on the swings. Petting the cats – Feeding the birds – These are the pleasures of my little girls.
Sometimes I can’t believe what I see. How could such beauty ever come from me? Then I remember the fights and the screams. Nothing’s as perfect as it seems.
Holding them close – Drying their tears. Rubbing their backs and calming their fears. Making their lives safe and secure. These are my wishes for my little girls.
Years will go by – They’ll grow and they’ll go – First off to school – Then their own home. It doesn’t matter how old they will be. They’re still my children to me.
Now late at night, when they’re in bed, I whisper “I love you,” and kiss their heads. Nothing I do ever disturbs the peace and the slumber of my little girls.
All that I do … I hope ensures … the peace and the future of my little girls
