Blink of an Eye © 2019 by Myron Schreck
You build castles and towers that reach to the sky, with the finest of comforts that money can buy. You worked hard to create your own paradise, and you hope it will last for all time. With your baggage you’ve traveled all over the globe, finding beautiful treasures to keep till you’re old. With your deals and your projects, you’ve achieved every goal, and you hope they will last for all time. Yes you hope they will last for all time.
With a hunger for love … to affirm who you are … and to comfort and nurture your soul. Just to share someone’s life – without fear – without guile. Never sad – never lonely – one person only – you promised you’ll always be there.
But everything you try to do – all your fortune and your fame – are illusions. All your comforts, all your pain – all your secrets, all your shame – are illusions. For nothing can last for all time. For the world we create is disguise. So cast the veil off of your eyes. And you’ll see the true meaning of life.
You can plan for the future and celebrate the past. You can save all your money and pray it will last. But the oneness of being and the grace of pure joy might be glimpsed in an instant of time and be gone in the blink of an eye. And be gone in the blink of an eye …
