EXODUS   —   from Psalm 114 — © 2019 by Myron Schreck

When the Children of Israel exited from Egypt, the House of Jacob fled that foreign land.  The Tribe of Judah became a holy space.  The Nation of Israel, G-d’s domain.

G-d appeared and the sea split apart. And the Jordan River flowed in reverse. And the peaks of the mountains … burst like running rams  while trees on the hillsides  … shook like leaping lambs

Tell me how a sea can split apart? Tell me how a River Jordan changes course? Tell me how a mighty mountain can be shaken by a windthat makes the hills shiver like sheep?

In the presence of the Lord …  The Earth did tremble

In the presence of the Lord …  The G-d of Jacob

Turned the rock into a pool of water

Turned the stone into a gushing spring
