BREAKFAST IN BED    --     © 1997 Myron Schreck

Well it's a Saturday Night and I'm dressed up fine, and lots of guys want to take me home, that's right. But I'm a woman who likes to play it cool, and no man's gonna make me act the fool. Because I'm not very picky. And I'm not so hard to please. But after all this time, I know how to find just the kind of man that I need. Someone who’ll fire up my coffee. Butter up my bread. Stir on up my jelly; make me breakfast in bed.

Now I can't say I've had a lot of guys, but I sure have had my share of men who act polite, swear to treat you right, but in the morning they're never there. Now I'm not superstitious, and I don't believe in fate. I got a list of things that I like in a man, and another list of what I hate. I don't need a man with money, or one who's witty or well read; just a guy who'll treat me right and make me breakfast in bed.

I drive a big black car, and I drive it fast. And when it comes to love, I like to make it last. I like singing the blues, dancing loose, and I know just the kind of man to choose: One who knows just how to hold me. One who knows just where to touch. One who doesn't scream, and who isn't mean. I know I'm not asking for much. I need a guy who'll come home every night, and give me some respect. I need a man who'll treat me special -- make me breakfast in bed.

I eat what's right. I watch my weight. And every chance I get I try to recreate. I take care of my body and I make it tough. And when I hug, I can't get enough. Can’t you see my mojo's working, and it’s working overtime. I got my ears pricked up and my eyes wide open for a man who's gonna treat me right. Someone who’ll fire up my coffee. Butter up my bread. Stir on up my jelly; make me breakfast in bed.
