‘Member Betsy back in 65
Hit the gulf and took 70 lives
And Katrina in 2005
It’s a wonder any one survived
Now they’re saying here’s another one
And they’re calling her Beulah
So lock your doors
And nail your shutters closed
Beulah’s … Comin’ through.

Beulah’s whipping up some awful wind
Up the river and around the bend
Maybe break into the Pontchartrain
And then turn around and head south again
So grab your fam’ly and your family jewels
What else can you do?
Lock your doors
And nail your shutters closed
Beulah’s … Comin’ through.

She’s unpredictable
She’s bound to fool ya
She’ll switch directions In nothing flat
Her curves’ll mesmerize
Her screams’ll hypnotize.
And soon you’ll find yourself lyin’
Flat on your back

She’ll slice right through your silly levees
<<< Just Like a  knife through butter. >>>
Rip off your roofs like she’s mowing grass
<<< You bet your ass! >>>
Breaking bridges in half
Snapping towers like twigs
Tossing trailers like toys
While movin’ up the Mississippi
On the way to Illinois …
<<< Illinois?  Oh Boy!!! >>>
Striking fear from Memphis to St. Lou….
<<< St. Lou—eeeee! >>>

So grab a flashlight & batteries
Every match & candle that you see
Maybe even buy a hurricane lamp, and
Find yourself a cellar that’s not too damp
Just be sure you have a lot of water
Chips and dip and beer
And lock your doors
And nail your shutters closed
Beulah’s … almost here.

Instrumental Interlude

Pouring rain and massive waves
It’ll feel like the “End of Days.”
And all the guys on the drilling rigs
Are gonna feel as if they’re just guinea pigs.
Streets‘ll flood and cars will smash
And ships will run aground.
Lock your doors
And nail your shutters closed
Beulah’s … Comin’ through town.
