Late at night
Lying there beside her, with her
Skin so soft, and she smells so sweet
And her hair’s so shiny
Like the color of her dreamy dark eyes
I want to know sometimes
Why even a good thing can go so bad

I know she loves me
And I feel the same.
But sometimes when we’re angry,
We say things we don’t mean
And even an innocent comment
Can seem like we mean to criticize
I want to know sometimes
Why even a good thing can go so bad

Years go by
And as I get older
I remember what a good friend once said
He said
Love’s like chocolate
But sometimes you can eat too much
And that’s how I know
Sometimes even a good thing can go so bad
